Our services
Find the service you need below, or send us an enquiry if you are unsure.
For homeowners, schools, care homes, estates and anyone responsible for trees.
A site visit to inspect the tree or trees from ground level. We look for defects, structural issues, signs of decay and management needs, taking account of nearby buildings, paths and how the site is used.
Where appropriate, a sounding mallet or probe helps investigate suspected cavities or decay. If further testing is needed, we explain what it would involve.
- What you receive
- A written report recording the findings, with practical recommendations, priorities, timescales for any work and advice on future inspections.
- Turnaround
- Quick turnaround where possible. The visit and report dates are agreed when you book, and urgent findings are raised promptly.
For homeowners extending a property, architects, developers and planning consultants.
A tree survey to help you understand how existing trees affect a proposed development. We record the trees and identify the space needed for their canopies and roots.
We review the proposals and agree the arboricultural information needed for the application. Send your site plan, drawings and any planning requirements with the enquiry.
- What you receive
- A tree survey and constraints plan, with an arboricultural impact assessment, method statement and tree protection plan where required by the agreed scope.
- Turnaround
- Quick turnaround where possible, with dates agreed around your application deadline and the drawings available.
For homebuyers, homeowners and property professionals responding to a lender or surveyor.
A focused site inspection and report when trees near a property have been raised as a concern. We assess the relevant trees and their relationship with the building.
Send the wording of the lender’s or surveyor’s request so the inspection addresses the question they need answered.
- What you receive
- A written report with the findings, an assessment of the identified tree concerns and any recommended action or further investigation.
- Turnaround
- Quick turnaround where possible. Tell us your mortgage or purchase deadline when requesting a quote.
For tree owners and managers who need a suspected defect or area of decay investigated.
A closer assessment of cavities, decay or structural defects. Where appropriate, a Resistograph uses a fine drilling needle to measure resistance through the wood and help assess its internal condition.
Testing focuses on the area requiring investigation, with the results considered alongside the visual inspection. The findings help inform the management decision for the tree.
- What you receive
- An explanation of the findings and their limitations, with practical recommendations for management, monitoring or further assessment.
- Turnaround
- Quick turnaround where possible, with the investigation and reporting timescale confirmed before the visit.

That background brings an in-depth understanding of the planning process and how arboricultural information is scrutinised. Experience includes reviewing BS5837 surveys, arboricultural impact assessments, method statements and tree protection plans, as well as TPO and Conservation Area matters.
Our reports set out the findings and practical next steps in straightforward language.
